→ Can an identity evolve simply by shifting emphasis?

Zara Pre-Owned extends the life of Zara garments through three services: Repair, Second Hand and Donation. We were invited to evolve its existing identity for a new stage of the project. Rather than redesigning it from scratch, we worked with what was already there, reconsidering the role, hierarchy and intensity of its existing elements while introducing new ones where needed.
The project went beyond the graphic identity. We also conceived and produced a new body of photography and film for each service with our production company 13.1.13.4, developing the identity and its content as part of the same visual language.

One of the elements we inherited was the label acknowledging that a garment had belonged to someone before. We kept the idea but reworked its visual language, replacing the handwritten typography with Courier to give it a more factual, archival character.
T.3

Typography was largely a question of changing emphasis. We reduced the presence of Franklin Gothic and introduced Times and Courier into the system. Times brings a more classic, mature character, while Courier reinforces the documentary and archival quality of Pre-Owned.
T.4
Colour was another way of shifting the balance of the branding. The orange-red was already part of the identity, but mainly as an accent. We brought it to the foreground, allowing it to occupy much more space and become one of the most immediate elements of the system. This shift became particularly important across Zara’s social media channels, giving Pre-Owned a clearer presence within a constant flow of fashion imagery and content.
